Is there a gravitational force between two objects kept on a table or between you and your friend sitting next to you? If yes, why don’t the two move towards each other? |
---|
The gravitational force acts between any two objects. Thus, the gravitational force does exist between two objects kept on a table. But, these objects do not move towards each other because the force of gravity is very weak. Attraction due to gravity is not noticeable unless one of the objects is as massive as, say, a large asteroid or a planet. Meanwhile, on earth, we have friction, air resistance, and other factors that tends to prevent the objects from accelerating towards each other. 2 Marks |
