AgNO₃ + NaCl ⟶ AgCl ↓ + NaNO₃

In the above equation, the number of atoms of the elements in the reactants is same as the number of atoms of those elements in the products. Such an equation is called a ‘balanced equation’.

The reaction in which heat is absorbed is known as an endothermic reaction.

e.g. When calcium carbonate is heated upto 1000℃, it decomposes to form calcium oxide and carbon dioxide.
