1. What is meant by reflection of light?
When the rays of light are incident on a opaque surface, they turn back in the same medium. This is known as ‘Reflection of Light’.

2. What are the laws of reflection?
The laws of reflection are as follows:
  • The angle of incidence (i) and the angle of reflection (r) are congruent. i.e. i = r.
  • The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal at the point of incidence, lie in the same plane.
  • The incident ray and the reflected ray are on the opposite sides of the normal.
