Answer the following questions:
How can we get the required amount of energy by connecting solar panels?
A solar panel is formed by connecting a number of solar cells in series.
Many such panels are connected in series to form a solar string.
A solar string gives the required voltage.
When many solar strings are connected in parallel, we can get the required current.
In this way, we can get the required amount of energy by connecting solar panels.

What are the advantages and limitations of solar energy?
The advantages of solar energy are as follows:
Solar energy is abundantly available in almost all parts of the earth.
It is a virtually inexhaustible source of energy.
Use of solar energy does not cause pollution and doesn’t contribute in environment degradation. Thus, it is a green energy.
Solar power plants are inexpensive to maintain.
However, there are some limitations in the use of solar energy:
The availability of solar energy is not constant. There are daily, seasonal as well as climatic variations in the availability of solar energy.
Solar panels occupy considerable space.
The initial cost of the solar panels is very high.
